Solutions
Is the original power adapter being used? Here's how to check:
  1. Locate the label on the power adapter.
  2. The output rating should read 9VAC, 2.5A or 12VDC, 2.5A. If the rating is different, replace with the correct adapter
Is the power adapter and/or cable damaged? Here's how to check:
  1. Disconnect the adapter from the outlet.
  2. Shake the adapter and listen for rattling. If present, do not try to repair. The adapter should be replaced.
  3. Inspect the cable for cuts. If present, do not try to repair. The adapter should be replaced.
What are other possible causes and solutions?
Did the location experience an electrical outage recently? Electrical outages can affect electronics in different ways. Some can be more damaging than others. If the power adapter was not connected to a power surge strip during an electrical incident, damage to either the power adapter or sign itself may be a possibility. There is no product self-test to verify. Pro-Lite offers repair services for a flat fee plus return shipping and handling.
