OP - Remote Fob Troubleshooting

  
Symptom
• The sign does not respond to the remote.
• The remote works intermittently with the sign.
Solutions
Locate the red indicator light on the remote. Here's how to locate it.
The red indicator light is located between the antenna and topmost button on the remote. It is normally Off. But when any button on the remote is pressed, it should turn On momentarily.

The sign does not respond to the remote.
  1. If you press a button on the remote and the red indicator light DOES NOT turn On, the battery in the remote should be replaced.
  2. *IMPORTANT* Once the battery is replaced, you will need to follow the pairing process procedure.
The remote works intermittently with the sign.
  1. Try standing within 5 feet from the sign and try the remote again. If the sign is more responsive, it is likely you were too far from the sign or the battery in the remote is running low and should be replaced.
  2. If standing closer to the sign does not improve communication, the battery in the remote may be running low and should be replaced.
Pair the remote with the sign.
If the red indicator light turns On but the sign does not respond, for an unknown reason the remote is no longer paired with the sign. Follow the pairing process procedure.

Is the remote damaged?
If any part of the remote is damaged, such as the antenna, the remote should be replaced. The remote will not work if the antenna is broken but the red indicator light still turns On.

What are other possible causes and solutions?
For an unknown reason, the remote has failed or the receiving sensor on the sign has failed. The product is still operable using the buttons on the backside of the sign. If this is not an option and the sign is more than a few years old, it should be replaced.
